Hong Kong pre-arrival registration for Indian Nationals effective 23rd January 2017
Latest update: 15 Dec 2016 1:30 IST
As per the Hong Kong Immigration Department, with effect from 23rd January 2017, all Indian nationals intending to visit Hong Kong must first apply for and successfully complete pre-arrival registration online. This is a must in order to visit Hong Kong.
Upon successful registration, the Indian national MUST PRINT the computer generated notification slip on an A4 size sheet and present the same at the Cathay Pacific / Cathay Dragon check-in counter. Passenger's details on the printout MUST MATCH those of his / her passport. WITHOUT THIS NOTIFICATION, PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR TRAVEL.
For your convenience, please ensure that the place of birth and place of issue entered while registering exactly matches the spellings and words as mentioned on the passport. You can also watch this video > Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals, which clearly demonstrates the steps to successfully complete the pre-arrival registration form.
For further details, you can also visit the Hong Kong Government Immigration Department’s website www.immd.gov.hk
In order to allow sufficient time for Indian travellers to obtain a pre-arrival registration, the online platform for pre-arrival registration has been opened on 19th December 2016. Indian passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
Exceptions: The following categories of Indian nationals can visit Hong Kong without pre-arrival registration.

b) Members of operating air crew or operating sea crew on board vessels, or a contract seaman, subject to normal immigration requirements being met.
c) Holders of valid Indian diplomatic or official passports.
d) Holders of United Nations Laissez Passer coming to the HKSAR or transiting the HKSAR to/from a third place for official United Nations business.
e) Holders of a valid HKSAR Travel Pass.
