The Mandarin may be one of the city’s most storied hotels, but it’s far from stuck in its ways. Make time – and book ahead – for a stop at hip new izakaya The Aubrey, whose plush interiors clash and blend gorgeously alongside stunning harbour views from the 25th floor. The other major upgrade has been the all-new Mandarin Club lounge, where warm reds and gentle golds are offset by clean lines, vintage art and that perfect view – not to mention a fairly constant flow of food. In the evenings, the well-stocked bar cart lets you work your way through a few sundowners – or line up a full scotch tasting. The Club Getaway staycation includes breakfast, afternoon tea, evening champagne and canapés as part of the full Club lounge access. Available until June, the package starts from $2,580 per night.
