Cam Ranh Bay, a 17-kilometre stretch of white sand just to the south of Nha Trang, is primed to become Vietnam’s next great beach resort destination – and you can get there first. The Anam resort is one of the few to occupy this pristine strip, and it does so in impeccable Indochine style. The surrounding area may not be packed with activities, but The Anam’s offerings keep guests entertained.
With 136 rooms and suites and 77 villas, this is a relatively small and impeccably designed resort. Twenty-two of the villas have a private pool, and there are also villas with private spa rooms and a two-storey villa for the whole family. Inside there’s thoughtful design, with elegant blue-and-white floor tiling set against dark tropical hardwoods.
There are a four restaurants and a bar with live music, a tennis court, fitness centre, 3D cinema, kids’ club and putting green. A luxuriant green lawn leads down to the private beach. And if you don’t have your own personal pool – or are looking for a change of scene – there are three outdoor swimming pools. Our favourite sits right by the beach.
Complimentary sunrise yoga on the lawn is a real morning mood-booster. Keep the mood mellow by carving out two hours at The Anam Spa for the Honeymoon Paradise couples’ treatment, which includes a body scrub, full-body massage and a half-hour milk bath that will leave you feeling like a Vietnamese Cleopatra (and Antony).
