    Winner: Rosewood Hong Kong

The Rosewood Hong Kong oozes understated luxury inside and out. The interiors feature a bespoke residential style brought to life by Tony Chi. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase Victoria Harbour and the glittering Hong Kong Island skyline, while marble, polished wood and neutral tones exude discreet opulence. Personal butler service, a highly regarded wellness centre and a growing collection of 11 notable restaurants and bars make it hard to leave this design-forward address.

“Stunning views, beautiful design, top-notch F&B and wellness offerings, a fabulous club lounge and a great buzz.” – Kee Foong, travel writer and Cathay Members’ Choice Awards 2024 panellist

    The Upper House, Hong Kong

Soaring over Hong Kong from the heart of Admiralty, The Upper House embodies minimalist elegance and luxury hospitality. The interiors are the handiwork of star designer André Fu, who has created a seamless flow from floor to floor amid 400-plus pieces of carefully curated artwork and a palette awash in warm gold hues. The rooms, the best of which overlook Victoria Harbour, are spacious, while the sky-high Salisterra restaurant alone merits a trip.

    Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London

Following a multimillion-dollar makeover, the Mandarin Oriental’s flagship in London has emerged more beguiling than ever. The turreted and red-bricked Edwardian building it occupies was previously the Hyde Park Hotel, where Queen Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill were frequent visitors. Gracious and posh but never pretentious, the art deco interiors complement this rich history, while the restaurants and bars, led by Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, are writing new chapters.

    The Peninsula Paris

The term “Grande Dame” seems fitting for this breathtaking hotel , which occupies the former palace where Spain’s Queen Isabella II lived in exile. The space feels regal indeed, with a lobby sprouting tropical plants, the glass-encased L’Oiseau Blanc rooftop restaurant, and residential-style suites fit for royalty. Moreover, the Arc de Triomphe feels so close that guests can practically touch it from their Beaux-Arts balconies.

Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Perched beside the River of Kings, this modern urban oasis tops Bangkok’s red-hot hotel market. The 299 immaculate rooms and suites occupy a glassy 73-storey tower overlooking Mediterranean-inspired gardens and stunning outdoor pools. High ceilings and cascading architecture make everything feel somehow roomier and grander. The hotel’s swish dining concepts match the lofty setting and the award-winning BKK Social Club provides a stylish place to unwind after exploring.
