Hold your fare

Terms and Conditions

  1. “Hold Your Fare” is the option and service provided by Cathay Pacific to allow customer to put Cathay Pacific flight bookings on hold on the terms and conditions set out herein.
  2. "Hold Your Fare" is only available for bookings made on the Cathay Pacific official website.
  3. The applicable holding period (“Holding Period”) for a "Hold Your Fare" is 72 hours, once the booking is confirmed.
  4. When "Hold Your Fare" is selected, the flight fare will be fixed for the Holding Period.
  5. The fixed flight fare under "Hold Your Fare" will expire, and no longer be valid or effective, after the expiry of the Holding Period.
  6. Valid electronic payment information must be given at the time "Hold Your Fare" is selected.
  7. The fee chargeable for "Hold Your Fare" (“Fee”) will be charged at the time of selecting "Hold Your Fare". The Fee will be charged regardless you will cancel the booking or complete your ticket purchase within the Holding Period.
  8. The Fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  9. If during the period when you have put your fare on hold, Cathay Pacific have to reschedule or cancel the relevant flight, we will notify you via email or SMS. In that case, you will be entitled to apply a refund for the Fee by contacting Customer Care.
  10. Bookings held with “Hold Your Fare” and subsequently ticketed via our United States website may be refunded in accordance with the latest Cathay Pacific refund policy. However, the Fee charged for “Hold Your Fare” will remain non-refundable, subject to specific rules and regulations which may entitle you to additional refund rights and compensation due to cancellation, delay and denied boarding in certain jurisdictions to and from which we fly. For further information, please refer to our General Conditions of Carriage, Conditions of Contract and Customer rights and regulations.
  11. The Fee is charged on a per passenger, per booking basis. The Fee may vary depending on the point of commencement of the booking itinerary.
  12. "Hold Your Fare" is only available for bookings with the first flight departing at least seven days (168 hours) or more after "Hold Your Fare" option has been selected.
  13. “Hold Your Fare” is not available for certain countries, special offers, hotel bookings, package bookings, interline bookings, some land and sea transport (codeshare services) and flight awards bookings. Cathay Pacific have the sole and absolute discretion on whether or not "Hold Your Fare" is available for any flight, package or booking.
  14. If "Hold Your Fare" has been selected, other related products including advanced seat reservations and travel insurance will not be applicable at that time. Those other products where applicable may be added to the booking after you have completed the booking and purchased the flight tickets (subject to availability).
  15. Once "Hold Your Fare" is selected, the relevant flight ticket(s) under it (including all details recorded in respect of each ticket) cannot be changed in any way. For example, if "Hold Your Fare" is for two passengers of the same flight, completing payment (nor any change of name or travel dates) for just one out of the two flight tickets will not be permitted.
  16. No changes may be made on a flight booking (including travel dates, travel itinerary or passenger names) under "Hold Your Fare". If any change is required to be made on such flight booking, a completely new booking is required and the Fee will remain non-refundable.
  17. All applicable ticket fare, taxes and service fees will be charged only when you confirm the booking and complete the payment for the relevant flight ticket.
  18. Please contact Customer Care if you have any technical difficulties with "Hold Your Fare".
  19. Cathay Pacific reserves the right to adjust the amount of the Fee and revise these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
  20. In case of any discrepancy between the English version and any translated version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
