Komunitas Salihara
Tucked on a narrow street in south Jakarta, Komunitas Salihara, or Salihara community, is a must visit. Located on a 3,800-square-metre plot, the complex consists of a rooftop theatre, café, gallery and an art store, and is a vibrant centre for Indonesian art and culture both traditional and modern.
The National Museum of Indonesia, popularly known as The Elephant Building because of an elephant statue in its forecourt, is home to more than 140,000 artifacts covering the history of all of Indonesia's territory. The museum showcases an extensive collection of ceramics, musical instruments, textiles and fine bronzes from the Hindu-Javanese period.
This bar offers a casual and laidback atmosphere for drinking and dining, with antique raised Chinese beds, decadent sculptures, carved doors and lighting via red and turquoise lamps. Enjoy the signature sangrias with a touch of live jazz every Saturday night.
