We are proud to welcome the first Airbus A350-900 into San Francisco and Newark, New York beginning operations on October 29, 2017. By having the latest generation aircraft as a part of our fleet, we continue to place the comfort and safety of our passengers at our core - enabling an even better travel experience.

Every week, there will be 8 additional flights between San Francisco and Hong Kong, and 2 additional flights between Newark, New York and Hong Kong. With a newly refreshed Business Class cabin as well as new Premium Economy and Economy seats. We continue to enrich the experience of passengers, helping the airline to deliver on its promise of a Life Well Travelled.

State-of-the-art features

The A350-900XWB can carry a total of 280 passengers - 38 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy Class, and 214 in Economy Class.

This aircraft is also the quietest among the aircraft types in its class and is 25% more fuel efficient with the latest generation Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines. Passengers will find that the cabin altitude is lower due to a higher cabin pressure, which reduces passenger fatigue and jetlag.

With its extra wide body, the aircraft offers more space and comfort, panoramic windows, and LED mood lighting contributing to a more comfortable and relaxing journey in all cabin classes.

A new cabin experience

The new Business Class seats build on the success of the airline’s award-winning long-haul Business Class product to create a memorable experience. Alongside a fully-flat bed, new features include extra stowage space within easy reach and the personal service offered by a “Do Not Disturb” and “Wake-up Call” function in the entertainment system.

The Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats also come with dedicated tablet holders and exclusive power outlets and USB ports for our passengers' convenience. Each Premium Economy Class seat has a fully integrated leg rest which, together with the ergonomically designed seat, allows more flexibility to adjust for optimal comfort. The six-way headrest in Economy Class is a proprietary design that provides better support and enhances sleeping comfort.

Connected in the air

For the first time, passengers have the opportunity to stay connected on board by using the Cathay Pacific Wi-Fi portal with their own Wi-Fi equipped device for a fee.

Access to the Cathay Pacific website, a number of partner websites and three live TV news channels is available free of charge.

Upgraded inflight entertainment system

We’ve made your personal TVs bigger and better in all classes, so you can enjoy our inflight entertainment system in high definition. The interactive user interface is equipped with notable new interactive features which broaden the inflight entertainment options for passengers.

Passengers can enjoy more on-demand films, an e-reader with a collection of magazines, our new interactive 3D map, and more on their touch screen TVs. Inflight and duty free shopping is made simpler, allowing orders to be placed directly from your seat.
