    Eligibility

For all tickets purchased through Cathay Pacific, date and flight changes can be made for an itinerary involving the same routes.*

For tickets purchased through a travel agent – please contact them directly to organise your change.

    * Rebooking may not be allowed or may incur additional fees. Subject to the fare rules of your ticket.

    How to change a booking

If you booked through Cathay Pacific – on our website, mobile app or through Customer Care – the fastest way to make changes to your booking is to log into Manage Booking. You can rebook your flights by clicking the “Change or cancel your flight” button.

Passengers under the same booking are required to change dates and/or flights together when changing flight bookings online.

If the itinerary involves connecting flights with other carriers, you’ll also be able to make changes to your booking.

If you booked a redemption ticket, you can change your travel date for a fee of USD50 or Asia Miles7,500 through Manage Booking prior to your original departure and ticket expiry date. A booking and ticketing service fee will also apply if changed through other channels.*

If you booked through a travel agent, you can make changes to your booking for a fee of USD60/HKD470 by contacting Customer Care.

    * Changes are subject to award seat availability.

Will I be charged a rebooking fee?

A rebooking fee may apply depending on the fare type you have purchased.

You may also be required to pay the fare difference* due to changes in fare conditions including:

    • Duration of stay
    • Availability of the fare class in your original booking
    • Seasonality and peak travel period surcharges on the rebooked dates

    * Passengers will not be entitled to fare refunds in case of a fare reduction except in certain markets

      Cancellations and refunds

How can I cancel or refund my ticket?

If you booked through Cathay Pacific – on our website, mobile app or through Customer Care – the fastest way to cancel or organise a refund is to log into Manage Booking. You can rebook your flights by clicking the “Change or cancel your flight” button.

If you purchased your ticket through a travel agent – please contact them directly to organise your cancellation. We are unable to process refunds for these bookings.

Unused tickets are eligible for a refund within 2 years from the original issuance date. Taxes can be refunded for unused or partially used tickets.

Partially used tickets that qualify for a refund will be credited back to the original payment credit card or bank account charged. *

If you booked a redemption ticket, you may cancel a completely unused ticket for a fee of USD120 or Asia Miles17,000 by log into Manage Booking prior to your ticket expiry date. The Asia Miles balance used to claim the award will then be credited to your account. Airport taxes and fuel surcharges will be refunded to the original payment credit card.

    * Subject to fare rules.

Do I need to pay a cancellation fee?

If you’d like to cancel your flight, a cancellation fee may apply depending on the fare type you have purchased.

You can cancel the fully unused ticket by paying a cancellation fee and be entitled to a refund of the fully unused ticket.  For partially used tickets, you can cancel the unused portion of the ticket by paying a cancellation fee and be entitled to a refund of the unused portion of the ticket.  After the cancellation, the tax on the unused portion of the ticket will also be refunded to you.  All cancellations and refunds are subject to Cathay Pacific’s terms and conditions.

    Refund processing time

It normally takes up to 7 calendar days for us to process your refund request.

However, if your booking includes interline flights or more information is needed to process your refund (i.e. credit card used for the purchase has expired and your bank account details are needed instead), the processing time will take longer.

Please note that the time required for the actual refund to reach your account will depend on individual banks and payment service providers.

    24-hour free cancellation

Cathay members who purchased their ticket directly through Cathay Pacific – on our website, mobile app or WeChat Mini Program – can cancel their ticket free of charge* within 24 hours through Manage Booking. Visit 24-hour free cancellation to learn more.

    *Terms and conditions apply.

How can I check my refund status?

If you purchased your ticket directly through Cathay Pacific and have submitted your refund requests through Manage Booking, the online refund form or Customer Care, you can log into Manage Booking to check your refund status for the past 90 days.
