As Hong Kong and the world open up, we’re looking forward to the return of international travel. With the launch of the elevated Cathay membership programme in August, we would like to thank you, our members, for your longstanding support and help you embark on more adventures while enjoying all the Cathay status benefits by automatically extending all Silver, Gold and Diamond memberships, as well as any unused mid-status benefits earned this year, until 31 December 2023.
At the same time, Marco Polo Club Green members can enjoy their current benefits until the end of their current membership year. Thereafter, Marco Polo Green members will become Cathay Green members with benefits that never expire. Click here to learn more about Cathay member benefits.

Automatic extension of membership status
All Silver, Gold and Diamond memberships expiring between December 2022 and November 2023 will automatically extend to 31 December 2023 regardless of whether the status requirements have been met. The extended membership status will be reflected in your account by the end of 2022.
Status Points arrangement
The Status Points balance of Silver, Gold and Diamond members with membership status expiring on or before 31 December 2022 will be reset to zero after the automatic status extension.
The Status Points balance of Silver, Gold and Diamond members with a current membership end date on or after 1 January 2023 will be carried forward to the end of 2023.
Automatic extension of mid-status benefits
Any unused mid-status benefits of Silver, Gold and Diamond members that expire between December 2022 and November 2023 will be extended to 31 December 2023. This should take about 10 working days from the expiry date.
Special rewards for members who have fulfilled the conditions to extend the membership status on or before 31 October 2022
To show appreciation for our members’ loyalty and support, we are rewarding Status Points to members who have fulfilled one of the conditions between 1 January 2022 and 31 October 2022, and are entitled to the conditional status renewal to extend their membership status. The Status Points will be automatically credited to the members’ account in January 2023, bringing you closer to your next mid-status benefit and status upgrade.
Silver members: Receive 100 bonus Status Points
Gold members: Receive 200 bonus Status Points
Diamond members: Receive 400 bonus Status Points

If you have not started your Membership Holiday, you can cancel it and your entitlement will be reinstated. If you have started your Membership Holiday, no change or cancellation can be made with the exception of reinstating your entitlement. When you come back from your Membership Holiday in 2023, your membership will also be extended to 31 December 2023.
For members who are entitled to the conditional renewal and fulfilled one of the conditions to extend their membership status between 1 January 2022 and 31 October 2022, we will arrange a special reward to express our gratitude for your support with bonus Status Points.

For members who are entitled to the conditional renewal and fulfilled one of the conditions to extend their membership status between 1 January 2022 and 31 October 2022, we will arrange a special reward to express our gratitude for your support with bonus Status Points.

No. The four conditions are mutually exclusive, so you can enjoy the special reward only once by fulfilling any of the conditions. A combination of partially fulfilled conditions will not be considered. Members meeting multiple conditions will not be entitled to additional special rewards.

No, certain fares and flights are not eligible in fulfilling the condition. These include staff travel, prizes, other free tickets, and some codeshare flights.

We understand that your travel plans might be impacted by factors out of your control. Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for the special reward on Status Points. You are still eligible for the automatic extension of membership status until 31 December 2023.
Miles earned from Cathay Pacific or Asia Miles co-branded credit cards, with the exception of the Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard® , can be combined to reach the 15,000 miles requirement.

- Silver, Gold and Diamond members will enjoy automatic extension of membership status for 2023. The new membership year will be from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. The updated membership period will be reflected in members’ accounts by January 2023.
- Cathay Pacific Airways Limited reserves the final right of decision towards the Cathay membership status extension.
- The flight tickets must be associated with your membership number that’s provided during the booking or check-in process.
- The flight must be purchased between 1 January 2022 and 31 October 2022 and depart between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022.

- Certain fares and flights are not eligible for fulfilling the condition. These include industry / agency discounts, staff / award travel, prize, donation, group and other special discounted tickets, chartered flights and certain codeshare flights.

- The flight tickets redeemed must be redeemed and flown by the member.
- The Asia Miles or Cathay Pacific co-branded credit card must be linked to your membership number to earn miles.

- Miles earned from co-branded credit cards, finance partners credit cards or banking products are based on the miles credited to the membership account from 1 January 2022 to 31 October 2022.
- Miles can be earned through a combination of co-branded credit cards (except the Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard®).
- Miles earned from converting credit card points to miles or via banking products can be accumulated from a combination of different finance partners.
- The cash portion spending requirement on Cathay Pacific shop can be accumulated from 1 January 2022 to 31 October 2022.
- Selected products on Cathay Pacific shop require minimum miles. The miles portion on Cathay Pacific shop do not count towards the minimum spending.
