Plan for additional travel time to New York's JFK Airport

Due to the ongoing JFK re-development program, extensive roadwork and infrastructure enhancements on both the Van Wyck and JFK Expressways, the travel time to JFK Airport is taking significantly longer than normal.  If you’re planning to reach the airport by road, please allow at least one additional hour of travel time compared to normal.   

Check-in for your flight closes sharply 60 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.  If you haven’t done so, we strongly suggest that you check-in online before coming to the airport and plan to arrive at Terminal 8 three hours prior to departure.  

The JFK Airtrain from Jamaica and Howard Beach stations is unaffected by these roadworks and is a reliable alternative you may wish to consider as a way of reaching the airport.
