In the case of flight disruptions, we will provide regular updates to our customers. Please check the Travel alerts posted on the homepage for the latest updates. You can also check Flight status on our website.
If you are already at the airport, you can check the latest updates via the screens or public announcements. Cathay Pacific airport agents are always there for assistance.
Please ensure that your contact information is accurate within Manage booking, to receive the latest updates. Customers can sign up for notiFLY mobile text messages (SMS), to be alerted of changes to flight status. This is especially helpful when internet access is not available. Note that, if you change your mobile phone SIM card while travelling, notiFLY text messages will not be delivered.
Subject to the nature of the flight cancellation, we will issue special ticketing guidelines ahead of a flight disruption allowing for passengers to make changes to their booking free of charge.
Customers who booked via cathaypacific.com or Cathay Pacific mobile app, who wish to change their travel arrangements, may do so via Manage booking, subject to the special ticketing guidelines issued for your flight rebooking – the guidelines will be linked to from the Travel alert when available.
Customers who booked through a travel agent should contact their booking agent for assistance first.
If your flight is cancelled, or missed due to disruption delay, we’ll do our best to automatically rebook you onto the next available flight, within the same cabin originally purchased. Your new flight details will be reflected within Manage booking. Note that, if the number of affected customers is particularly high, we may take time to process your new travel arrangements.
If your flight has been delayed, and there is a new estimated time of departure, the check-in and boarding times will reflect the new departure time.
If your flight has been cancelled and you have a new flight arrangement, please note the new check-in and boarding times.
In circumstances where flight disruptions are due to local weather, we suggest checking with your local transportation options on any delays or cancellations that may affect your journey to the airport.
Note: To understand your passenger rights in the event of a flight delay or cancellation, please refer to the Passenger Rights and Regulations page.
